Subscription Terms & Conditions

The Journal of Biblical Counseling is published three times a year in April, August, and December.

subscription types

Individuals may purchase a digital subscription or a print one. Institutions may only subscribe to the print version. However, an online searchable version, including all back issues, is available to institutions through the American Theological Library Association's ATLAS PLUS product available through EBSCOhost.

payment terms

All subscriptions are for one year and include the three issues produced during that period. By purchasing a subscription to the Journal of Biblical Counseling, you agree to an initial payment for one full year of content. This subscription renews automatically, so after one year and annually thereafter, you will be billed the annual subscription renewal fee at the then current rate. You may cancel your subscription at any time subject to the terms of our cancellation policy.

Subscriptions are activated on the date of purchase and renew one year from the activation date.

Payment for the subscription can only be made via credit card through our website. We accept all major credit cards.

Academic institutions and libraries are encouraged to subscribe through a print subscription management service such as EBSCO.

cancellation policy

All subscription types are nonrefundable. This means you are free to cancel your subscription at any time, but partial refunds will not be issued. Cancellations can be made directly through your CCEF user account. To cancel your subscription: Log in to your CCEF user account, navigate to your JBC subscription tab, and click “cancel” next to your subscription.

You may also cancel your subscription by contacting us at customerservice@ccef.org.

Transfer of Subscription Types

All subscription types are nontransferrable.

Print Subscription Shipping Policy

When a print subscription is placed, all shipping takes place through our printing company on the schedule outlined in the Publication Schedule section above. Subscribers will be notified via email when their issues are in the mail. Unfortunately, tracking information is not available. Subscriptions purchased after a release date will receive their first issue at the next release date (for example, if you subscribe in May, you can expect your first issue in August). If your issue does not arrive within 30 days of shipping from our printing company, we are happy to send a replacement copy. Replacement copies will be sent no more than two times on a given subscription. If issues continue to go missing, the print subscription will be discontinued and we will offer a refund. In these cases, a digital subscription is advised.

subscription price changes

If subscription rates change, current subscribers will be notified via the email associated with their subscription. The notice will communicate the upcoming price changes and give subscribers the option to cancel their subscription should they wish to discontinue it. If no action is taken, the subscription will be renewed at the new rate on the annual renewal date.

Subscription content is subject to the following terms of use:

Individual subscriptions:

  • Intended for use by one individual
  • Any individual article may be shared with up to 20 people without requesting additional permission.
  • Subscription content may not be posted publicly or shared online without prior written permission from CCEF.
  • Subscription content is available in the English language only and translation of content is not permitted without prior written permission from CCEF.
  • CCEF does not permit additions, deletions, or changes of any kind to be made to the article(s) available through your subscription.
  • Access to this subscription content does not grant you rights to license, publish, or distribute it to a third party.
  • All rights reserved by CCEF. Permission to use subscription content does not grant any rights of ownership to JBC article(s).
  • Any impermissible or unauthorized use is a violation of these terms and will result, exclusive of any other remedies available to CCEF, in immediate termination of your subscription and right to use JBC articles for any purpose.

Institutional subscriptions:

  • Intended for use in an institutional setting where multiple people have access to one print copy of the JBC (examples: library, church lobby, staff commons area).
  • Any individual article may be shared with up to 20 people without requesting additional permission.
  • Subscription content may not be shared online without prior written permission from CCEF.
  • Subscription content is available in the English language only and translation of content is not permitted without prior written permission from CCEF.
  • CCEF does not permit additions, deletions, or changes of any kind to be made to the article(s) available through your subscription.
  • Access to this subscription content does not grant you rights to license, publish, or distribute to a third party.
  • All rights reserved by CCEF. Permission to use subscription content does not grant any rights of ownership to JBC article(s).
