Understanding Labels and Diagnoses. OCD, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, Borderline Personality Disorder… What do these diagnostic labels mean for strugglers and for those who want to help them? This session explores the origins of our modern psychiatric diagnostic system and provides a balanced critique that neither exalts nor ignores these categories in the context of ministry.

Mike Emlet is a faculty member at CCEF. He holds an MD from the University of Pennsylvania and an MDiv degree from Westminster Theological Seminary. He worked as a family physician for twelve years before joining CCEF.
