In this article, Edward Hindson argues that basic biblical principles are foundational to understanding even the most complex counseling problem. Hindson discusses the situation of Hezekiah in Isaiah 36-37 and the lessons that can be gleaned from a troubled person seeking help in a crisis situation. Hindson then moves into a discussion of the fundamental biblical assumptions we must make in counseling others: God’s sovereignty and revelation are primary in our understanding of man and man’s problems.
