In this article, Jay Adams seeks to deepen our understanding of what the Bible says about the process of change. Using Ephesians 4, Adams discusses the concept of “being renewed” and its development in the thought of Paul. He describes this renewal as a rejuvenation of one’s mind and then draws out the practical implications of this mindset in the life and sanctification of the believer. Adams concludes that much preaching and counseling fails not for lack of truth but for lack of the fullness of God’s truth.
