In this article, David Powlison responds to the question “What is the place of the gospel and God’s grace in biblical counseling?” He argues that every part of biblical counseling is made of gospel and grace but people question the graciousness of biblical counseling for several reasons. Powlison lists out these possible reasons: their view of Scripture is deficient, people view calls to practical obedience as contradicting grace and would-be biblical counselors fall short of what they profess.
