Part 1 of a 2 part series. In this article, E. Langston Haygood discusses the book of Proverbs and how to understand it in a redemptive-historical context. He examines how we should understand the ethical and moral principles in the book and apply them to our lives. Haygood begins to develop a questionnaire for determining the significance of a proverb within the context of the Bible. He concludes the article with principles for interpreting Proverbs.
