In this article, Lloyd Jonas comments on the connections between counseling ministry and church growth. Jonas notes that the New Testament shows that growing churches of the first century practiced what would today be called “biblical counseling.” He moves into a discussion on the differing views of how churches experience growth and points to his own church’s experience in counseling and church growth. Jonas concludes his article by pointing out that pastoral counseling is a God-given means to minister His saving and changing grace to needy souls.
