In this article, David Powlison interviews Bob Fu about ministry in mainland China. Bob Fu discusses his conversion and ministry, and then some of the particular counseling problems that ministry must deal with, including marriage conflicts, prostitution, drugs and alcohol. Fu shares that the secular society has been adopting certain aspects of Western psychology, while the church tends towards a pietistic approach. Fu concludes that “we could help by encouraging and educating native Chinese to be biblical counselors.”
