He argues that recent figures from UNESCO point to the reality that one third of adults in the world are illiterate. With this reality, efforts to simply get unreached people groups the written Scriptures or resources fall short in carrying out the Great Commission. Fisher introduces the next article in the Journal on the topic of literacy in evangelism and missions.
