In this article, Timothy Keller presents a sermon from Luke 6:17-26. Keller argues that Jesus’ kingdom brings about a radical revolution: It’s a new administration of our lives, upside-down from the way the world around us works. First, it has a new pattern of values compared to the “right-side-up” kingdom. A Christian is no longer controlled by those things the world thinks are so critical: power, success, comfort and recognition. Second, the kingdom comes with power to implement the new values, because Christ reversed places with you. Third, the kingdom has a product: people are grabbed and reoriented, so that they begin to hang out with a different crowd than they once did, so that their lives are actually controlled by the new values.
