In this article, Jay Adams presents remarks made to the Congress on Christian Counseling after receiving a plaque for pioneering work in Christian counseling on November 10, 1988 in Atlanta, Georgia. Adams uses the opportunity to give an explanation and an invitation. He explains that his focus over the last twenty years has been to help pastors, not to refute Christian professionals. Adams concludes with an invitation to abandon the fruitless task of attempting to integrate pagan thought and biblical truth.
