Part 2 of a 4 part series helping those with eating “disorders.” In this article, Elyse Fitzpatrick discusses the diagnosis of bulimia. Fitzpatrick identifies four motives that commonly underlie this behavior: Instant gratification, outward perfection, self-atonement and a desire for instant solutions. She concludes with a basic outline of ways in which a biblical counselor can help those who are diagnosed as bulimic. Part 1 is in JBC 11:1, Part 2 in JBC 11:2, Part 3 in JBC 11:3 and Part 4 in JBC 12:1.
