In this article, Nelson Hinman addresses the issue of “healing of memories” and “inner healing.” Hinman discusses how he proceeds to work with counselees who express dissatisfaction with the approaches of inner healing and healing of memories. He draws on doctrines of justification and sanctification and covers several key passages from Scripture. Hinman concludes that he believes there is a better, more acceptable way to deal with anything in a believer’s past than the way taught by those who follow the routes of inner healing and healing of damaged emotions.
