In this article, Tim Stafford discusses a biblical definition of lust and desire. Stafford argues that disordered desires are considered normal in our society. He maintains that the Bible reorients our struggles with desire with a vision for long term change, thinking less of the moment of temptation than of the lifetime of spiritual warfare. Stafford concludes that desires do fade into the background, however, when a greater desire replaces them through the Spirit.
