In this article, Winston Smith argues that anger damages marriages. Anger seduces, controls, blinds, and deceives us. Our sinful anger in marriage will never produce godly results. Instead, we must do something different. Smith maintains that God’s love, in contrast, is a ‘seamless’ response to us, His wife. The Lord’s anger, not separated from His love, functions within His love. Smith concludes that our goal is not to be less angry, but to be more Christ-like in our anger.
