Counselors
Andy Engert is the Executive Director at CCEF New England. He received his Master of Arts in counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary and has completed numerous CCEF School of Biblical Counseling certificate courses in preparation for becoming a biblical counselor. Prior to joining CCEF, Andy worked in the professional counseling field and is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the state of Vermont. He has a passion for supporting the church in New England and for helping people find real help in the Lord as they face the significant challenges of life. Andy and his wife, Christine, have three sons, and he also serves as the part-time worship pastor at his church. Andy loves music, playing soccer, and spending time with his family.
Robyn Huck is the Counseling Mentor at CCEF New England with more than 15 years of counseling and speaking experience. Robyn is a regular Bible study leader and has spoken at many women’s events. She has a passion for teaching the Bible to women and helping connect biblical truths and comforts to the challenges of life. Robyn and her husband Karl are parents to three grown children and have two fabulous daughters-in-law and four grandchildren! They enjoy big band music, fox trot and swing dancing, tandem bicycling, traveling, the outdoors, and time with their family.
Susie Matter is a counselor at CCEF New England. She completed her master's in Biblical Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary in 2005. Since then, she has counseled in a middle school, worked in a college ministry, directed the children’s ministry for a church in Philadelphia, and taught preschool. She loves to study and teach the Bible and to think about how God’s Word is life-giving and applicable to her own and other people’s lives. Susie and her husband, Drew, have three school aged children. Susie enjoys running, skiing, gardening and reading.
Nick Clark was a counselor at CCEF New England until he was called home to be with his Savior on August 3, 2022. His homegoing has left a hole in the hearts of so many and he will be greatly missed. One of Nick's greatest joys was to see other people find the meaning and hope that he found in his relationship with Jesus. Nick Kellogg is a counselor at CCEF New England. Nick grew up in Michigan, where he graduated from Western Michigan University and gained a passion to make disciples of Jesus. From there he spent a year living in the Netherlands, which grew his love for the local Church. Seeking to wed his love for the Church, and making disciples Nick went to seminary at Westminster Theological Seminary where he met and married Juli. Nick and Juli both love opening their home to people, so that they can share not just their own lives, but also the gospel with people in the hopes that they would get to see the Lord work in people's lives. Nick and Juli currently have four children and would be excited if the Lord grew that number. Nick enjoys books and people. Nick counsels via telehealth only.
Emily (Barka) Heuer is a counselor at CCEF New England. She completed her Masters in Counseling at Westminster Theological Seminary and is a member of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. Her experience includes working in youth ministry, mentoring middle and high school age girls, and counseling in the local church. She loves coming alongside people wherever they are and reminding them of God’s great love for them. In her spare time Emily enjoys quilting, reading, coffee, and spending time with family and friends. Emily counsels via telehealth only.
Dori Willeman is a counselor at CCEF New England. She received her Master of Arts in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary. She, alongside her husband, Don, moved to New England in 1999 to plant a local church where she has served there as a leader in children’s and women’s ministry. In addition, she has worked in campus ministry teaching and discipling college students. She has a passion for helping people understand biblical truth and apply it to their lives that they might experience peace and joy in Jesus Christ.
Lara Mather is a counselor at CCEF New England. She received her Master of Arts in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary. Lara is a lifelong New Englander, growing up in mid-coast Maine and now living in the hills of rural New Hampshire. She and her husband, Jonathan, have seven children ranging in age from young adult to middle elementary. She has a special place in her heart for church planting and renewal in small communities, having been an active member of two church plants and helping with women's, children's, and small group ministries. She has seen the gentleness and persistence of God in her own life and in the lives of others, and is grateful for the confidence we have that he is always near and faithful.
Kaylin Vincz is a counselor at CCEF New England. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Crossroads Bible College and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary. Her experience is with individuals and couples as well as leading counseling groups. Kaylin empathetically walks with you on your journey through counseling while applying a biblical perspective to the challenges of life. She believes that Jesus' story, mapped onto ours, has the power to change the way we view the world and that his presence gives the strength needed to face the challenges ahead. Kaylin believes relationships are the ministers of these realities and provides a safe, empathetic relationship within counseling and seeks to mend and strengthen other interpersonal relationships. In her spare time, Kaylin likes to spend time outdoors with her husband and three children as well as garden, snowboard, hike, read, and drink coffee.
Ian Schmidt is a counselor at CCEF New England. He received his Master of Arts in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary in 2023. Besides his work at CCEF NE (initially as an intern and now as a counselor), Ian also works part time in college ministry as a life coach. He loves being trusted with people's stories and watching God work mightily in their lives. In his free time, Ian appreciates evenings with friends, working through his never ending stack of books, and enjoying a friendly game of chess.
Annette Horne is a counselor at CCEF New England. She was born and raised in Germany where she completed her graduate degree in Theology and an MBA degree. She pursued a 20-year-long career in Higher Education developing corporate and academic partnerships and traveling extensively to various countries such as China, India, Brazil, and Russia. After marriage to a U.S. Naval officer, she moved to Italy and then the U.S., ultimately taking her permanent home in the Upper Valley. Returning to her roots in faith and theology, Annette began taking counseling classes at the CCEF School of Biblical Counseling and started working for a local church. She now enjoys connecting with people to draw them closer to God and to grow connections and relationships within the church. She loves coming alongside people, meeting them wherever they are in their lives, listening, and working together to seek God’s presence in their lives and what living in faith looks like in day-to-day life. In her spare time, Annette enjoys the outdoors, TV series, and spending time with friends.
Grace Sunderland is an intern counselor at CCEF New England. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Health with a Counseling Emphasis from Arizona Christian University, and has completed two certificate programs from the CCEF School of Biblical Counseling. Grace has experience counseling women at her local pregnancy resource center and hopes to be involved in starting up a counseling ministry at her local church. Grace has been comforted by sisters in Christ who showed her the love of Jesus during difficult times. She has a passion to bring this kind of support and comfort to others. Grace’s hobbies include reading and calligraphy lettering, and she is beginning to get the hang of pickleball. More than anything, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Lauren Groves is the Chief Operating Officer at CCEF New England. Lauren grew up in Massachusetts, graduated from Dartmouth College, and has worked in campus ministry and executive administration. She has a passion for turning great ideas into reality. Lauren works part-time for her church and volunteers with CASA of New Hampshire. Lauren and her husband are parents to three great kids, who will tell you she loves adventures, sunshine, and talking with friends. Contact Lauren.
Tess Conroy is the Office Manager at CCEF New England. Tess lives in Vermont with her husband Taylor and their puppy Opal. She enjoys knitting, baking, playing the harp, reading, and being outside with family, friends, and her dog. While this is her first time working with a counseling practice, she has a background in various specialties of nursing and is excited to help CCEF serve the upper valley through this role.
