CEU INFORMATION
Obtaining Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for the 2023 CCEF National Conference
This process is not as difficult as you may think! And, we are here to help!
Each State Board is different in its requirements, each State has various State Boards (LPC, LSW, LMHC, etc.), and many State Boards are moving to an audit system that requires you to provide proof of CEU credits only if you are asked for them.
Because of the differences in state laws and the many different boards, CCEF finds it more helpful to provide you with the materials you need to apply on your own for CEU credits (or have proof in an audit situation). Most of the attendees we have helped with CEU credits in the past have been able to claim the National Conference hours toward their CEU requirements. We want to help you with that too! CCEF has not obtained pre-approval through the NBCC, but that should not keep you from researching whether you can obtain credit.
A. If you need CEUs for your professional license, you should first contact your Board of Licensure and answer 4 questions:
- What is the deadline to submit an application for CEUs with my State Board? Some State Boards require applications to be submitted before the Conference begins.
- What material does my Board need to process my application? We have a National Conference Description that lists the a) title and description of each session, b) speaker’s name and qualifications, and c) the time schedule for each session. Your Board may require this information for a CEU application, or it may not. If you need a copy of this information please contact our CEU Administrator, Kellie Sironi, at ceusupport@ccef.org.
- Will my Board recognize CCEF as a CEU provider? You must determine if it will approve CCEF as a provider of that content. We have worked with many of you through the years to determine if your State will accept CCEF content. The list below contains information we have compiled. If you do not see your State listed below, you can talk to your Board to determine what it needs to recognize CCEF or you can reach out to our CEU Administrator for help (ceusupport@ccef.org). You should update the information below because we cannot guarantee it current as of the time you review it.
- And, for those who “attend” through live-stream: Will my Board approve CEUs for my participation in the National Conference via live stream or recorded content if I am not in person at the Conference? Each Board is different. Some give CEUs for any type of conference material offered; some require the event to be live through streaming or a webinar format.
B. Now, make sure you are registered for the Conference! Then print off a 2023 Certificate of Attendance (we will have a limited number of these forms at the Info Desk at the Conference if you lose yours. Use this form to document your participation in each session. Write in the number of minutes of each session that you participated in/watched. (If you had to leave early, halfway through for example, you will only mark half of the allowed minutes.). Please Note: the Certificate has two columns for tracking total hours, but you should only use the first column. The other column is for the Administrator to initial. Also, at the end, the form has one row for you to track minutes if your State uses a 50-minute hour and another for those States operating on a 60-minute hour. Please only fill out one column based on the standards of your State.
C. Once you have completed your 2023 Certificate of Attendance please visit our Info Desk to have your form signed. If you need additional help you can e-mail ceusupport@ccef.org.
Not too hard, right?! We will be onsite at the Conference to help you with any questions you may have!

*Please NOTE: You should confer with your Board to see if the information below from your State is current. We cannot guarantee there have not been some changes since the time we gathered this information.
This webpage has been used to update licensees on various State Board approvals or denials as they are received, or to provide information for those State Boards that do not allow an application for credit to come from someone other than the license holder himself/herself. The term “Board” is used to pertain to a Board of Counseling unless otherwise indicated. For other Boards (Social Work, Licensed Addictions, etc.) the attendee should contact their specific board to determine the requirements of obtaining credit.
