Frequently Asked Questions
What is a supporting church? And how do we qualify to be one? ExpandChurches and ministries that are designated as 501(c)(3) non-profits are eligible to make donations to CCEF and receive benefits in return. Our goal for this program is to provide resources to participating churches and ministries that equip them for wise and loving gospel ministry. As a church gives to CCEF, their giving falls into the category of level 1, 2, or 3, and benefits are provided accordingly (see chart above).
Individuals and businesses do not qualify for the Supporting Church & Ministry Program.
When do we receive benefits? ExpandBenefits are provided throughout the year, following a church or ministry’s initial donation to CCEF. The Journal of Biblical Counseling (JBC)is distributed three times a year as the journal is released. A code for discounted CCEF courses is shared in early spring, and the free National Conference registration code is given each fall in preparation for the following year’s conference. Discounted counseling and consultations are available throughout the year.
How do we give to CCEF? ExpandTo become or continue as a supporting church, you can donate to CCEF at ccef.org/donate. How can our church use CCEF content as a supporting church? ExpandWhile there are many ways that churches engage with CCEF, here are a few of the most common.
- We have resources specifically for pastors available at ccef.org/pastors.
- Many churches find our curricula based on past conferences to be useful resources for small groups. You can find these at ccef.org/curriculum.
- Many churches send groups of members to our National Conference.
- Some churches have cohorts of students that take School of Biblical Counseling classes together. You can learn more about SBC partnerships by emailing sbcpartnerships@ccef.org.
- If you’d like recommendations for other books, journal articles, podcasts, and more, please contact us at support@ccef.org.
One of the benefits for supporting churches is a $10 discount for counseling and consultation sessions. If you’d like to pursue counseling for a member or a faculty consultation for a pastor or counselor, please contact CCEF’s intake department at https://store.ccef.org/intake-form/ or by emailing intake@ccef.org and let them know that you are reaching out from a supporting church.
